Robert and Florence both entered NJIT as freshmen in 1996, but didn't formally meet until 2001, in graduate school. They started dating after being friends for over two semesters. Friendship and courtship up to that point comprised of a ton of hanging out, games of 500, solving jigsaw puzzles, a couple of LAN parties, and long hugs in the school parking deck. The best things in life are free.
In the presence of Florence's friends: Nita, Winnie, Jennifer, and Anuj, Robert proposed on Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Harvest Moon Brewery in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Just before they were all about to leave the restaurant, Robert nervously said something like, "Wait, I have something I have to say." Florence realized hmmmm... Then Robert got up and knelt on one knee, presented a ring and told Florence, "I love you very, very much," then asked, "Will you marry me?", to which she replied, "Of course!"
The ring is comprised of a 2.2 carat square-cut blue sapphire center stone with two 1/3 carat square princess cut diamonds flanking it, then three smaller princess cut diamonds inlaid into the band on each side beyond the two diamonds. 78 smaller diamonds span the bottom and top edges of the entire ring. When Robert gave her the ring, she was stunned by its regal look. Robert spent months and months designing it with advisement from his dad and his dad's friends/colleagues. Robert proposed in front of some of the greatest people in the world and gave Florence exactly what she wanted.

I was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey in December 1978 and lived there for a less than a year. My family and I moved to Union, New Jersey, where I stayed until graduating from Union High School in 1996. Later that year, I enrolled at the Newark College of Engineering of NJIT where I dormed. In 2000, I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Science. I moved back to Union, while pursuing a graduate career at the same school. I received a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2003. I love design, reading anything, drawing vector art, creating handicrafts, home improvement, colors, playing paintball, and making strangers smile.
I currently work as a biomedical engineer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in East Orange, New Jersey and as a website developer for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. I first saw Robert around campus when I was either a freshman or a sophomore at NJIT and thought, "Gee, this guy could really use a haircut." I didn't talk to him until graduate school. I really enjoyed hanging out with him and admired his integrity and honesty, and after nearly a year, we started dating. I could give a million reasons why I love Bobby, but what says it best is that he is the most magnificent person I have ever met. How wonderful life is while he's in the world.

I currently work as a biomedical engineer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in East Orange, New Jersey and sit right next to Florence! I initially met her during my first semester of graduate school in Dr. Reisman's class, Systems Studies in Bioengineering. We were introduced through a mutual friend. We started studying together and getting to know each other, and soon started dating. Florence has an infectious smile and warmth that makes anyone around her feel great! I love her and I am happy every day I get to spend with her! I see all my dreams come true when I look into her eyes.
